BF Alum, Actuated Medical, is Finalist in Patient Impact Awards
PA Bio has announced the three finalists for their 2013 Patient Impact Award, who will be recognized at their Annual Dinner and Awards Celebration March 12 in Philadelphia. The Patient Impact Award honors a medicine, therapy, device or organization that has made a significant contribution to the quality of health care or length of life of patients in 2013. Eligible organizations include medical device, diagnostic, pharmaceutical, biotechnology companies and academic institutions with significant operations in Pennsylvania. The finalists and winner were selected by a committee of representatives from the Pennsylvania healthcare and academic research community.
The finalists are:
- Actuated Medical Inc. for TubeClear®
- OraSure Technologies, Inc. for OraQuick®In-Home HIV Test and OraQuick® HCV Rapid Antibody Test
- University of Pennsylvania/Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for their T-cell technology for destroying cancerous cells
