Call for Speaker/Performer Applications

I’m honored to invite you to apply to speak or perform at TEDxPSUErie, an independently organized TED event happening on April 16, 2016.

TEDxPSUErie is a half-day event being curated by a group of dedicated volunteers. We’re expecting an audience of about 100-150 people in the Samuel “Pat” Black Conference Center on the Campus of Penn State Behrend and the event will be available for live viewing worldwide through livestream.com. In addition every speaker/performer presentation will be uploaded to the TEDx YouTube channel – if TED likes it, it’s possible that TED could feature the video on their main website at www.ted.com. Our goal is to bring together bright minds to give talks that are idea-focused and on a wide range of subjects, in order to foster learning, inspiration, and wonder – and provoke conversations that matter.

TEDxPSUErie is scheduled for Saturday, April 16, 2016, from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm. We are looking for a diversity of voices and experiences to make critical additions to the TEDxPSUErie stage. Our application process is pretty straightforward: To apply complete the online submission form at  www.tedxpsuerie.com and upload a one minute video clip summarizing your topic to the TEDxPSUErie team by February 22, 2016. Finalists selected from these abstracts will provide a draft of their full presentation or performance and will receive intensive coaching in preparation for the event. If you know anyone who may be interested in speaking or performing at TEDxPSUErie, please pass along the information to them as well.

As with all speakers, if selected, we would work together over the course of the next couple months during which we would provide you with resources and information that would help you create your content and craft your presentation to fit within the constraints imposed by TED. If you are a performer, we will work with you to select appropriate content that fits within the required timeframes.

Thank you for your time, and we very much look forward to hearing from you. Best Regards,

Dave Causgrove
