BFTP/CNP provides funding and business support services to emerging technology-based companies using a phased investment strategy. Ben Franklin funding is the financial bridge that links the assets of an entrepreneur to future investment opportunities from banks, angel investors and venture capital groups. We charge no fees, points, or collateral, and personal guarantees are not required. However, there is a “match” requirement – cash and/or in-kind. Emerging tech-based companies tend to need help with very specific problems related to running a new business. To augment and support the financial investments we make in our portfolio companies, we provide TBSN—a seasoned and dedicated team of ten business professionals who offer their expertise in areas such as marketing, finance, human resource management, and accounting—free of charge to our client companies. Business Incubators
Incubators provide early-stage companies affordable lease rates, shared services and equipment, and access to a wide range of professional, technical and financial programs. Early stage companies usually remain in the nurturing environment of the incubator for three to five years. The incubators funded by Ben Franklin are most often sponsored by one or more of our economic development partners with the goal of building successful manufacturing and technology start-up firms. The Ben Franklin Venture Investment Forum helps entrepreneurs access outside investment, provides essential management-training, assists Angel Investors in making sound decisions and provides linkages between investors and promising early-stage companies.
