The Erie Innovation Fund is a dynamic collaboration between the Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority (ECGRA) and Ben Franklin Technology Partners. Our mission is clear – to stimulate business growth in the Erie region by providing essential investment capital to local entrepreneurs and established companies seeking new market opportunities.

We focus on supporting early-stage, tech-based companies, even those in the pre-revenue stage. These companies should present a concrete plan for the development and commercialization of innovative technologies, with a strong potential for job creation.
We also extend our support to established companies and manufacturers with fewer than 500 employees. To be eligible for funding, these entities should present a concrete plan for developing new products or processes, fostering increased competitiveness in the market, and creating or retaining jobs.
Our comprehensive screening and business plan review process follows Ben Franklin’s established evaluation procedure. Furthermore, we’ve assembled a panel of local business experts and potential investors to enhance the evaluation of proposals. We’re dedicated to ensuring that every selected project holds the promise of driving growth and success in the Erie area.
Companies that secure funding through the Erie Innovation Fund are not only provided with financial support but also gain access to valuable business mentoring and support through the Ben Franklin Transformation Business Services Network. This integrated approach, combining business and technical assistance with financial backing, equips companies engaged in tech-based product and market development to overcome the challenges associated with growth.
