STATE COLLEGE, PA – Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Central & Northern PA (www.cnp.benfranklin.org) is pleased to announce that Ms. Kate Alward has become the newest member of our Transformation Business Services Network. In this role, she will provide Human Resource (HR) management support to the tech-startups and small manufacturers in our investment portfolio.
A Penn State graduate with a degree in Labor Studies, Ms. Alward, a native of Pennsylvania, is certified by the Society for Human Resource Management. Kate is also an experienced small business owner having operated her own insurance brokerage business for several years. In addition to her HR and business operations experience, she is able to bring to Ben Franklin’s clients, the real, first-hand knowledge that is much needed to grow a small business in today’s regulatory as well as competitive environment,
Kate is a subject matter expert on topics related to the implementation of effective HR practices. In the past she has coached, trained and helped to develop staff members within several organizations to assume HR and supervisory/management roles. Prior to accepting the Ben Franklin position, Kate was the Senior Human Resources Business Consultant for Warren Whitney, a management consulting firm in Virginia. In that role, she was actively working with business owners, management, and staff in the private sector to design and implement HR programs that added value, complied with employment laws and regulations, and streamlined operations.
