The Big Idea Contest is Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Central and Northern PA’s annual pitch competition for entrepreneurs and innovators. Entrepreneurs and early-stage companies located in our Pennsylvania 32-county footprint are invited to apply by Friday, October 16, 2026, for a chance to pitch their ideas and win cash prizes and business support.

“The Big Idea Contest is more than a chance to win funding – it is an opportunity to turn an idea into a clear vision,” says BFTP/CNP Chief Executive Officer, Stephen Brawley. “Entrepreneurs can test their strategy, gain valuable feedback and connect with people who can move their business forward.”
Pennsylvaniainnovators and aspiring or current entrepreneurs living within the 32-country central and northern PA region are encouraged to apply.

Finalists will compete in a live pitch event on Thursday, December 10, 2026, where a panel of expert judges will award up to $50,000 in cash and valuable mentorship opportunities from the Ben Franklin team to help winners bring their ideas to life.
