Ben Franklin Technology Partners Invests in 12 Tech Companies!

Twelve startup companies located in central and northern PA recently received an investment from Ben Franklin that will allow them to further develop a new product, process, or software application. The funding is typically used for prototype development, testing of new products, hiring additional employees, and helping grow company sales.

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]At the recent September Board meeting, the companies approved to receive funding are:

SnapHealth, located in Lancaster, helps consumers understand and select the best health insurance plans available to them through a self-guided web application that reduces the many insurance plan options to three recommendations.

Elements Aligned, located in Erie, provides the commercial construction industry with a system for securely fastening easily-removable laminated wall panels to conventional steel-stud framing.

Envision BioMedical, located in York, develops new contact lens polymers for lens manufacturers to help them address contact lens discomfort in users.

Wilds Sonshine Factory, located in Kane, creates high-quality distilled spirits from sunflower plants grown solely in the PA Wilds Region, while also housing an Agricultural Education Center where visitors can learn about local natural resources.

The Pursuit by You, located in Boalsburg, is a mobile health education app that uses behavior modification techniques to encourage healthy eating and lifestyle choices.

Arcana Recovery, located in Harrisburg, is a web and mobile app that helps reduce substance abuse relapses by quickly connecting those seeking help to recovery resources, while also improving the recovery resources client management systems.

HMS Technical Development, located in Bradford, has developed a proprietary system to restore land after mining, construction, and oil and gas extraction.  The system results in permanent restoration of vegetation and decreased corrosion and run-off.

Sustainable Composites, located in Lancaster, uses an environmentally certified process to convert scrap leather into a recycled material that can be used and finished like new premium leather.

SR Solutions Inc., (DBA RestoreUnited), located in York, has created a new software system for restoration contractors and subcontractors, which manages their business processes and interfaces with the insurance company payers.

NanoSpec Instruments, LLC DBA Magnitude Instruments, located in State College, has created a faster and lower-cost scientific analysis instrument. Their transient absorption (TA) device brings fast data collection and sensitivity to a larger market of researchers that can’t access traditional TA technology.

Anova Innovations, located in Erie, specializes in plastic mold design and engineering and has incorporated the strategic use of 3D-printed metal inserts to enhance a mold’s productivity and improve the molded part quality.

OhanaLink Technologies, located in Hermitage, has created a private communication platform designed to connect targeted types and communities of users with their families, friends, or other support networks.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
