Ben Franklin TechCelerator Graduate Invited to Pitch at Silicon Valley Competition

CrimeWatch (http://www.crimewatchus.com), a recent recipient of a Ben Franklin Technology Partners investment and graduate of Ben Franklin’s TechCelerator @ Carlisle, has been invited to this year’s 13th edition of the Founder Showcase Pitch Competition. The Showcase, which will be held on March 27, 2013 at the Microsoft Campus in Mountain View, CA, is Silicon Valley’s premier international seed-startup event, gathering top technology founders, investors, and press to hear talks from leading startup experts, and help launch promising companies.

Based in Carlisle, CrimeWatch developed a software platform that leverages web and mobile technologies to increase law enforcement interaction with the general public on a local, state, and national scale. The participating agencies control and organize fugitive and offender information in a format the enables immediate sharing of the information.  The CrimeWatch network has proven to be a low-cost, easy-to-use web tool that offers the benefits of social media to distribute critical information to the population quickly and professionally.

When asked about the opportunity to pitch his company to Silicon Valley investors, CrimeWatch President, Matt Bloom, commented, “We are very proud to be one of the eight startups invited to participate in this first-class event.  We welcome the opportunity to explain not only our business model, but also how easily a local police department can join the CrimeWatch Network and start sending alerts, including pictures of the offender, to smartphones in the area where the arrest took place.”
