On June 21st, our Portfolio Manager for the Southern Alleghenies, Jose Otero, and our Vice President of Business Development, John Sider, attended the retirement celebration of Debbi Prosser, Director of Business Development for the Southern Alleghenies Planning and Development Commission.
Longstanding Service and Leadership
Debbi joined SAP&DC in 1984 and, after working on numerous diverse projects, became the Director of Business Development, a position she held for 32 years.
Impact and Recognition
In recognition of her career’s tremendous impact, Debbi recently received the prestigious Athena Award. This national award, presented by chambers of commerce, honors individuals who have achieved the highest level of professional excellence, contribute time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community, and actively assist others, particularly women, in realizing their full leadership potential.
Contributions to Ben Franklin Technology Partners
Debbi played a central role in securing Appalachian Regional Commission funding to support new coaching and training resources for Southern Alleghenies entrepreneurs in each county.
Debbi was instrumental in creating the Alleghenies Angel Fund based in Altoona, which led to multiple portfolio companies receiving investment and the delivery of locally-focused Techcelerator programs.
In addition to her professional excellence, Debbi has been a fun and supportive friend who would stop at nothing to help a colleague or entrepreneur. The whole team at Ben Franklin CNP will miss seeing her regularly but wish her all the best in this next chapter of her life. Happy retirement, Debbi!
