Ben Franklin’s TechCelerator Program Announces Latest $10,000 Winner!

STATE COLLEGE The Ben Franklin TechCelerator @State College is pleased to announce that a startup company, OurFleet, was awarded $10,000 for their business concept which was presented to a panel of judges on Tuesday evening, December 9, 2014. Doug Carnahan and his team, Martin Flynn, Curtis Curcio, and Bob Macminns, have developed a resource and traffic management mobile application and “control center” software that assists the oil and gas exploration/production industries manage their on-site assets. According to the company, “OurFleet is the only traffic management system that allows complete “air traffic” like control over resource deliveries with no hardware installation.” For more information, see www.ourfleet.com

Five other entrepreneurs also made presentations and successfully completed the business startup Boot Camp, which is a ten-week program offered by the TechCelerator:

  • Justin Miller and his partners, Ben Brautigam and Sherwyn Saul, with Ares Drones developed an easy to use consumer drone with automated flight control via a mobile app. See aresdrones.com
  • Patrick Lenahan and Corey Cochrane with BluesSpin developed a new, less expensive way of doing magnetic resonance measurements on solid state electronic devices. See BlueSpinLLC.com
  • Dezhe Jin with deZEN Technologies developed a novel speech recognition system based on systems neuroscience principles.
  • Donghai Wang and Ran Yi with HICO Tech developed a lower cost, high capacity-high power density Si anode material for Li-ion batteries.
