[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]TIONESTA, PA – Join us for a free Maker Event on Saturday, July 22 from 10 AM- 1 PM in the parking lot of Forest Scientific, 668 Elm Street, Tionesta to learn more about Ben Franklin Technology Partners and the support they provide for startups and entrepreneurs!

Brian Slawin, Portfolio Manager at Ben Franklin Technology Partners, will be on-site to provide more information about funding and resources for those with innovative ideas or business concepts.

This event will also include a live demonstration of welding, pottery, jewelry-making, sticker design, basket weaving, painting, and more! Guests will also enjoy a sneak peek at the inner workings of Forest Scientific, a company that builds CNC machines, laser and plasma cutters, transportable maker labs, and more that are used worldwide in businesses, schools, and museums.

More about the Maker Space:

A maker space is a workspace specifically designed for making, learning, exploring, and sharing with the goal of providing both shared workspace and equipment for people who make things and lack adequate space or access to equipment to produce or develop new products or work.  This may include artists, product artisans (food, soaps, candles, etc.), woodworkers, musicians and vocalists, technology developers, and many other categories of makers.

This event is hosted by the Forest County Business Alliance. Having determined through a feasibility study that a maker space is warranted in Tionesta, the organization is currently conducting more research to determine what the public would like to see happen in the space and complete an implementation plan. The community’s input will help the project’s implementation committee determine what kind of equipment and supplies this space should have, how it should be structured, what programming it should offer, and more.

The event will be held at Forest Scientific/Tionesta Business Park, 668 Elm Street, Tionesta. The event is free and all are welcome to attend.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
